The Idaho Falls area Big 5 is located at 1851 S 25th E, Ammon (208)552-2107 Southeast of the 17th & Hitt Intersection.

(UPDATE July 4, 2017) Big 5 continues to maintain its minimal inventory but hasn't yet expanded selection by brand or price.  Next time you are in Big 5, encourage the Staff and Manager to stock a wider variety of pickleball products. (End of Update)

One of the first questions many new players pose is, "Where can I buy gear?"

Luckily, the Ammon/Idaho Falls Big 5 sporting goods retailer carries a modest but suitable selection of pickleball paddles and balls.  We visited the store on May 13 and talked with the Manager, Josh Bonnesen.  Josh said interest in pickleball gear "comes and goes."  He said there might be 10 people in fairly rapid succession and then many days with no interest followed yet another burst of interest from another 10 or so people.  Bear in mind that Big 5 routinely offers coupons good for 20% off regular priced items.  Josh confirmed that all of the pickleball products are on display at regular price.  Josh also said he will look into and consider stocking a wider selection of economically-priced beginner gear.

Other than Big 5, we know of no other local retailers.  Online selections are too numerous to mention.  Wal-Mart offers an extensive "ship-to-store" pickleball inventory.
