APPLE

The APPLE Athletic Club pioneered pickleball in Idaho Falls.  We all owe a huge tip-o-the-paddle to APPLE's consistent, long-term support for pickleball.

There are three indoor courts with portable nets set up in the APPLE gym.  Drop-in pickleball takes place five days each week:
  • Tuesday/Thursday from 11:30am to 1:50pm
  • Wednesdays from 12 noon to 2pm
  • Fridays from NOON to 3pm
  • Sundays from 1:30pm to 3:30pm

Generally about 16-20 players attend each session.  Player rotation is based on a winner-loser board that we will describe in more detail in a later post.  Skill levels among the APPLE regular players varies from Beginner to Advanced.  The bulk of the players are at least solid 3.0 players with many 3.5's and a sprinkling of 4.0 players.

Austen Felton and Liz Panter are in charge of the APPLE Pickleball program.

For those visiting APPLE, we hope these graphics and captions help you find the club.
US Hwy 26 is shown for reference at the top of the above graphic.  Also, the city's pickleball courts location.  Best way to get to APPLE when coming from US Hwy 26 is to proceed to Holmes Ave. (That's the one just after Fred Meyer.)

Here's a closer vicinity map of APPLE's location.
Best way to get to APPLE is to proceed south on Holmes to 17th and then East on 17th to Jennie Lee (which is at the stoplight at Lowe's) and then south on Jennie Lee to an un-named access road across from the LDS Jennie Lee Stake and then to either of the large APPLE parking lots.
Finally, here's a look at how APPLE is situated due East of Home Depot.  Except you can't get from Home Depot to APPLE unless you go back north to 17th and then east to Jennie Lee and so forth.
